By unJUMbold Voice | Jumar Lico-an Desabille DAY 4: January 29, 2022 Guest Speaker: Janeane Santos The final day of my CVAP Journey is finally here! Our host for today Janeane Santos shared her experiences on how she started with CVAP. She encouraged us by showing us some of her successful projects all throughout her voice-acting career. Branding Advice Janeane thought us how to have good branding. According to her,  our brand should be catchy, resonate with us, and connote a positive vibe. The Significance of Practice She also emphasized the importance of continuous practice all throughout our voice-acting journey. As she said, in all stages, we should practice! Practice! Practice! We should not wait for the project to come before you practice. Dapat you take time to improve yourself while waiting for one. Practice will help us do our best in our craft in the long run and with that, we are the ones who will benefit from this. She added, “Kapag maganda talaga ang output and attitud...

By unJUMbold Voice | Jumar Lico-an Desabille January 22, 2022 Guest Speaker: Papa Lem This day started as the usual kamustahan with the voicemates. I was really struck with what Voicing Queen shared on this day before Papa Lem, who is our speaker for today, begin. Voicing Queen highlighted that “You are worthy to share your voice.” Our voice matters to everyone out there, so let us continue believing that what we share is of value to other people who can hear it. Just as Papa Lem started, I noted one of his awesome lines saying, “Our voice doesn’t have a price but it does have value, so we should use it in a positive way.” He also talked about how he started with his journey in voice acting and also shared about branding and even vision. Application time was set for another afternoon session. Here we were given the time for our zoomarte. I am really grateful for my BR5 mentors and voicemates because they were very helpful in pushing you to do your best. Well, this...

Day 2: Exploration of The Hidden Gift

By unJUMbold Voice | Jumar Lico-an Desabille Day 2: January 15, 2022 Guest Speaker: Joshua Simeon It’s another great day to develop our voice as an artist! It started with Sir Jeffrey’s opening remarks and reminder about the golden rule:  “Do unto others the things that you want to be done to you”. On this day, I enjoyed learning so many things from Sir Joshua. He taught us generally all about how to develop our voice. While it’s true that we should accept our voice, however, in voice acting we should learn the variety of our voice and explore its flexibility so we can utilize it properly. We should learn that we can sound in a diverse tone and not sound monotonous. Since our voice is very dynamic, we can change and improve it. “Our voice is not just a gift. It is our choice.” Because of that, we can do so many things with our voices. We definitely just have one voice but it’s very possible that we can sound with variety or in short, we can do many character voices out w...

By unJUMbold Voice |  Jumar Lico-an Desabille Day 1:  Saturday, January 8, 2022 Guest Speaker: Pau Castillo   The Introduction   It was the first day of my CVAP Journey and I was feeling excited for the things that would happen on this day. I admit I was not prepared for this day since I was not able to read the first three chapters of Voice Master’s book that was assigned for us to read. It was quite a new day and a new routine for a working Kuya like me. I was still on the adjusting period, so I was not able to read the chapters since I was so tired from a whole week's work though I am just in a WFH setup.   I woke up at 8 in the morning and I then had my coffee and read the whole three chapters as fast as I can so I would just somehow be prepared for the discussion.   The zoom meeting started at 9:30 AM and I was very happy seeing new faces and hearing the jolly and energetic voices of the hosts.   I never knew I would be tired after the sess...
